Community Outreach

Capital Improvement Program

DC Department of Parks & Recreation, JLC/Alpha, and The Temple Group involve the community stakeholders as early as possible into the planning process in order to establish that the project(s) will meet the needs and requirements for the users of the facilities. An open forum for the community is maintained throughout the conceptual, schematic, design development and construction processes.

The Community plan includes:

  • Directs points of contact for City Council members, and ANC Commissioners
  • Online access to project updates and photos
  • Potential internships with local high school students
  • Career day presentations
  • School projects for any computer aided design classes
  • A Job Bank will be available to local residents
  • Periodic and frequent community meetings to provide an open forum for questions, input, and concerns
